TLTR: I value all your support, so I am changing how I will publish the reports moving forward. I will make the report available for everyone, while I will keep doing monthly calls to discuss them with all the supporters. A new “Corporate Sponsorship” tier will be created for organizations that want to promote an independent view of CNCF projects and their associated companies.

I value all my paid members and their support, and for that reason, I’ve been collecting a lot of feedback about the first report, and I’ve made some decisions to change how this will work moving forward.

The most consistent feedback that I got was about not gating the content and making these reports public and accessible for all, which is how I am used to doing things. Doing these reports in the open makes the content available for more people and promotes a collaborative approach to gathering and collecting information.

Supporters will appear in each report’s “Thank You” section as individuals as long as you are a member. Supporters will also be invited to a monthly catch-up call to discuss the reports (or any other relevant topic). We can set up an agenda for each month if this is valuable to you. I use your subscription to pay for the design of the reports, and I will need to find an editor to check the texts and proofread them. Is there something else you would like to get in exchange for your support? What would it make it worth it? Do you want early access to the reports before they go public? Stickers? Mentorship? A signed copy of the book when it gets printed? I am open to other ideas too. Please get in touch.

I will also create a “Corporate Sponsorship”. This will enable companies and organizations to sponsor the reports, providing companies and projects with an independent view of how they are doing and being perceived in their communities.
I’ve shared the first report with very influential people in our industry, including CNCF leaders, CEOs, and CTOs of international companies. The feedback has been excellent overall, and the encouragement to keep going is constant.

As always, I am open to feedback and flexible to change things when possible. The most challenging thing about writing and collecting information about these reports is to keep doing them. Hence, I want to create a suitable space and environment to maintain this initiative in the long run.

Stay tuned. A new report is coming the first week of June!
